Tile with Style Pt. 2: “Gracefully” Bringing Marble and Metal-Look tile into the Shower

We previously shared the dreamy bathroom renovation of home and DIY influencer Sarah Symonds of Grace in My Space.

We previously shared the dreamy bathroom renovation of home and DIY influencer Sarah Symonds of Grace in My Space. Drawn to the organic modern design aesthetic, she infused her family’s guest bathroom with earthy textures and colors, nickel and satin brass hardware, and installed a metal-inspired porcelain tile across the floor. Sarah put so much love and energy into the remodel that we had to come back this month to finish telling her story.

To ensure the different surfaces throughout the room felt cohesive, the Grace in My Space influencer extended porcelain tile from the floor to the walls of the shower. She decided to dress the shower in a marble-look porcelain tile from Atlas Concorde USA, which has a clean, ethereal appearance.

See how Sarah used wall tile to create a calming, organic modern inspired guest bathroom that will make you say, “can we come over?”

Look to livable and luxe qualities in a shower wall tile

ACUSA: Sarah, we can’t stop talking about your renovation. Please tell us, what performance or design features were important to you in a shower wall material?

SS:First and foremost, we needed a durable, long-lasting material that can resist moisture. I was also looking for a statement-making tile that can serve as a focal point in the space. Porcelain tile checks both boxes. Not to mention, it’s an easy material to clean (a bonus for any busy parent).

Incorporate elements that sing to your desired bathroom design aesthetic

ACUSA: With so many textures and colors to choose from, what ultimately drew you to your tile of choice?

SS:Throughout the entire remodeling process, I’ve tried to incorporate elements that nod to organic modern design. The Eon collection from Atlas Concorde USA ties in perfectly with my vision for the space. The porcelain tile mimics natural Carrara marble, and the veining creates subtle movement across the shower walls. Now, our shower is so polished and high-end looking—it’s not something we ever want to hide.

Create visual interest (even in the shower) with a metal-look tile

ACUSA: We’re admiring the large niche in the shower wall. What inspired you to create this look?

SS:Nearly every surface in the updated guest bath is a shade of white, gray or cream, so I really wanted to create some exciting visual contrast. The Reflex Night Mosaic offers the deep, shimmering look of metal. It draws the eye into the shower stall and adds that touch of modern flair I was going for in the overall design aesthetic.

Here’s a fun fact: the mosaic we used in the shower niche is from the same Atlas Concorde USA collection as our floor tile. It’s just a different color and shape.
